Why did I want to be me? I’m not sure I had much choice!

I think you meant to ask why did I want to do ‘I’m a scientist’. I want to encourage more people to go into science and think more critically in life- skills that are currently in short supply. To do this I was excited to have the chance to answer questions honestly, and to make scientists into human beings that are normal people.

If you mean why did I want to be a nuclear medicine physicist then that’s an easy one to answer – I love physics and I also love to help people. So I get to do both at the same time and get paid for it as well – result!! There’s lots of variety in my job so I never get bored and there are always new problems to solve and more patients needing helped.

If you mean why did I want to do “I’m a Scientist” then that’s easy as well. I love what I do and I want young people to be excited by it as well. That way, you guys can be the future medical physicists and keep the profession in good health for years and years to come!
