The event was engaging and fun but also informing and challenging. There were so many good questions from the students. Just when I thought I knew what to expect, I would get yet another really clever question. The first scientist you’ve evicted is… Jen Dennis One scientist will be evicted every day this week, and you get a new vote each day. Make sure to VOTE to keep your favourite in the competition. The Medical Physics Zone is funded by the Institute of Physics. The Scientists Jen Dennis | Clinical Scientist, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital I work in a hospital and help find out what’s wrong with people by making patients radioactive and then taking pictures with a special camera to see where the radiation has gone in the body. Christopher Mirfin | PhD Student, Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre Designing MRI scanners of the future! Mohan Kyle | Clinical Scientist, University Hospital of Hartlepool I help put radioactive drugs inside people for diagnosis and treatment- no, they don’t glow! Daniel Fovargue | Postdoctoral, King’s College London I use pictures of sound moving through people to help find cancer. Sarah De Vos | Trainee Medical Physicist, Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital I am training to use X-rays to kill cancer cells.
